1. What is a VOW?
A Virtual Office Website (VOW) is a secure, password-protected real-estate search service operated under a TRREB member’s supervision. A visitor registers and signs in before viewing data that TRREB permits through the VOW feed, including sold-property information.
On Opei, VOW approval enables the protected Sold Listing Search. Depending on the data supplied by the board, registered users can search historical sold listings, compare asking and sold prices, review property details, and use filters such as location, property type, price and sale date. The reference workflow describes access to as much as two years of sold history; actual availability is controlled by the current TRREB/PropTx feed and rules.
VOW is different from public IDX search. IDX generally powers public active-listing search; VOW provides additional protected data after registration. It does not give visitors direct MLS access and it does not expose fields prohibited by board rules.
2. Agreements needed for complete listing functionality
| Agreement | What it enables on Opei | Important selection |
|---|---|---|
| IDX | Public search and display of active MLS listings permitted by the board. | Enter the exact public website domain that will display listings. |
| DLA | Imports and updates the agent’s or brokerage’s own listings for website management and promotion. | Choose Brokerage's Listings when the access-level question appears. |
| VOW | Authenticated search for sold listings and other VOW-authorized data. | Select the approved Opei vendor/AVP supplied during onboarding. |
3. Prepare these items
- Your active TRREB/PropTx username and password.
- Your full public website URL, including https:// (for example, https://agentname.com).
- The Opei vendor/AVP name supplied in your onboarding instructions.
- Your Broker of Record’s contact information, because their approval is part of the process.
4. Activation instructions for TRREB agents
- Open the PropTx agreement portal. Sign in with your own PropTx credentials. Do not send your password to Opei.
- Select “New Agreement.” Start a separate request for each agreement type. Your member information should populate from your TRREB record; review it for accuracy.
- Create the IDX agreement. Select the IDX agreement type, choose the approved Opei vendor entry, and enter the exact production website URL where listings will appear.
- Create the DLA agreement. Select DLA and choose Brokerage's Listings for the access level. Complete the vendor and website fields as requested.
- Create the VOW agreement. Select VOW and the approved Opei AVP/vendor entry. This is the agreement that authorizes protected sold-search data.
- Enter every applicable domain correctly. Use the full live URL, not an admin link, localhost address or temporary preview URL. The official member manual allows up to three website URLs where applicable.
- Read and accept every term. Confirm all required acknowledgements, then use Sign Agreement. A request is not submitted if it remains an unsigned draft.
- Repeat until IDX, DLA and VOW are submitted. Each agreement is separate and may have a separate status.
- Notify your Broker of Record. The workflow normally moves from the agent/vendor to the Broker of Record and then to PropTx/TRREB for final processing. A broker’s pending approval is a common cause of delay.
- Track the status. Check the portal’s Active or Agreements in Progress area. When all approvals are complete, tell Opei Support so we can verify the feed and enable the correct access on your website.
5. What happens after approval?
Opei verifies the approved domain, vendor relationship and incoming data access. Public active search can use IDX, your own listings can use DLA, and protected sold search can use VOW. Visitors will be asked to register or sign in before accessing VOW-only sold information. Activation is complete only after both the board approval and Opei configuration are confirmed.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need all three agreements? For the complete Opei listing experience, generally yes: IDX, DLA and VOW serve different purposes. Your brokerage or board may impose additional requirements.
- How long does approval take?Timing depends on the third party/vendor step, your Broker of Record and PropTx/TRREB processing. Check which party currently holds the request before resubmitting it.
- Why is sold search still unavailable after I signed? The agreement may still be awaiting broker or board approval, the approved domain may not match your live domain, or Opei may still need to enable the feed. Send Opei the agreement status, never your password.
- Can sold listings be public without login? No. VOW data is delivered through a secure, password-protected experience. Visitors must register and sign in before viewing protected sold-listing details.
- How much sold history is available? The reference workflow describes up to two years. The exact dates, coverage and fields depend on the current board feed, rules and data availability.
- What if I have more than one domain?Declare each domain that will display the data. The official member manual describes space for up to three URLs; confirm current requirements in the portal.
- What if I change brokerage or domain?Tell Opei and check with PropTx/TRREB. A material change may require an amended or new agreement before data can continue on the new site.
VOW(Virtual Office Website,虚拟办公室网站)是由 TRREB 会员负责管理的安全、受密码保护的房产搜索服务。
- 有效的 TRREB/PropTx 登录账号和密码。
- 点击 “New Agreement”。
- 通知 Broker of Record。
